Can I give my newborn gripe water?

My baby is just 12 days old, and I've been told by my grandmother to give him gripe water to relieve gas although the bottle sais the baby must be 1 month old? Can I give him gripe water now and if so, how much and how should I administer it to him? Also I read that if it has dill oil, that its no good for the baby before 1 month? The one we bought contains dill oil. Thanks
