Maybe a seen 10 years later when Jem is successful and is a lawyer and at the same time Scout is in college in her dorm studying books about the morals and ethics of a good society. This would give the reader a feeling that event in the hardest events and even when the justice system didn't treat anyone equally or fairly and killed an innocent man (Tom Robinson), you can still accomplish your dreams. Scout grew up and became a better behaved and wiser person, and Jem developed as well, even in struggling times.
