Can you replace the little spring where the negative side of a battery goes on an electronic?

I have these old Action figures i found in my closet and apparently when i was younger i left batteries in them and two of them exploded in there and messed up one of the springs and the little spring fell off cause it was all rusty, i just wanted to know if there is any way i can possibly make my own little spring to make contact with the battery and have the figure work again?
