Can you still use a wok after it has gone rusty?

yes you can but you first have to wash it good and use a scrubber and then you rub it with shortening and can put it in oven for like 5 minutes or just oil it every time you use it and make sure it's upside down so no water will be in it when you clean it but I know my grandmother used ot do that with her cast iron pans to keep them from rusting.
