Organic way to kill ants?

well its almost time for my plants to go out in the garden and today i was looking at my soil inside of my garden and i notice a ton of ants crawling over my soil, we also have a huge problem with ants getting inside the home, i have used ant spray inside the home but i want to keep my garden 100% organic, not really even sure if the ants would be a problem in the garden but it just doesnt look right with all of them crawling around, i'll be planting over 20 tomato plants and 80 different pepper plants with a little carrots and basil and chives, dill, oregano and also a few onions....please help
