Can I get disability for a bad back if the surgeon says I can work?

The workers comp doctor says I can never do my job again and is going to put a lot of restrictions on me, and my job says they will probably going to let me go if he does. The workers comp surgeon said my back is like a old rusty bolt that will probably brake, but is suggesting that they put me back to work with no restrictions. I'm afraid if I work I will lose the use of my back, but what would be the chances of getting disability?
